Property Accounting Manager
($125-130K + bonus 10%)

Opportunity Highlights:
- Lead and manage a team of property and revenue accountants within a dynamic, fast-paced real estate investment firm.
- Oversee all aspects of the property accounting function for a diverse portfolio of industrial and commercial properties.
- Play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and drive continuous improvement.
Duties:
- Provide leadership and direction to a team of approximately 12 property and revenue accountants.
- Facilitate team meetings, establish agendas, and communicate new procedures.
- Act as a resource for team members, addressing questions and providing support for daily tasks, monthly and quarterly closing procedures.
- Foster a collaborative relationship between the accounting team and regional operations group (Property Managers).
- Oversee and coordinate monthly closing processes, including general ledger, CAM, accounts payable, fee payments, rent roll processing, and deadline communication.
- Manage the status of quarterly processes (accruals, WIP reconciliations, balance sheet lead sheets, variances) for assigned property accountants.
- Coordinate team responsibilities for semi-annual and annual processes (reforecasts, budgets, CAM estimates, reconciliations).
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reporting packages to joint venture partners.
- Champion adherence to internal control policies within the accounting group.
- Review and approve various financial documents prepared by property accountants (wires, NOLTs, rental adjustments, invoices).
- Supervise the review and completion of monthly deliverables and quarterly financial packages.
- Lead coordination efforts with external auditors during internal controls testing and property-level audits.
- Manage the post-closing checklist process for property acquisitions and dispositions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate effectively with the Accounting management team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 6+ years of experience in property accounting (commercial or industrial).
- 3+ years of supervisory experience managing a team of at least 5 people.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Experience with MRI or Yardi property accounting software a plus.
- CPA or public accounting experience a plus.
