This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Property Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and controlling the financial aspects of our real estate operations. This includes preparing financial reports, maintaining property accounting records, and ensuring the accuracy of all financial data. The Property Accountant will work closely with our finance team and property managers to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported. This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
2. Utilize Yardi Software to maintain property accounting records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
3. Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
4. Participate in the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
5. Review and analyze property budgets and forecasts, and provide financial information to management for decision-making purposes.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements as necessary.
7. Work closely with property managers and other stakeholders to resolve any financial issues or discrepancies.
8. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary financial documents and providing supporting documentation.
9. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in accounting regulations to ensure adherence to relevant laws and standards.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 2 years of experience in property accounting or a related role.
3. Proficiency in Yardi Software and Microsoft Excel is required.
4. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, financial statement preparation, and account reconciliation.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
8. Knowledge of real estate industry and property management is a plus.
9. CPA certification or candidacy is a plus.
