We are seeking an experienced Property Accountant to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented, analytical individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. As a Property Accountant, you will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of our property portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.

As a Property Accountant, your duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Managing all accounting operations related to our property portfolio, including Affordable Housing and Multifamily properties.
2. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Working closely with the sales team to develop and maintain budget forecasts.
4. Ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
5. Conducting regular audits to ensure accuracy and adherence to accounting standards and regulations.
6. Managing the General Ledger (GL) and performing account reconciliations.
7. Overseeing project accounting and providing financial insight on project feasibility.
8. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and procedures.
9. Providing financial advice to management and making recommendations for cost savings and improvements.
Job Details
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Property Accountant position should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting, preferably within the sales industry.
3. Extensive knowledge of Affordable Housing and Multifamily property accounting.
4. Proficiency in General Ledger (GL) and project accounting.
5. Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting.
6. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and create financial reports.
7. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
8. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
9. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
10. A proactive problem-solver who can work independently and as part of a team.
11. CPA certification is preferred but not required.
