We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Property Accountant to join our fast-paced Finance team. This permanent position offers a unique opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of real estate properties. The successful candidate will handle the day-to-day financial operations and provide strategic insights to improve our financial performance. This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in real estate accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis and who is looking for an exciting opportunity to grow their career in the finance industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of real estate properties.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Manage the budgeting process, including preparing budgets, forecasting future performance, and analyzing budget variances.
4. Utilize Yardi software to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting accuracy.
5. Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
6. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
7. Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
8. Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations to ensure the company's financial practices remain compliant and competitive.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting or a similar role in the real estate industry.
3. Proficiency in Yardi or similar property management software is a must.
4. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles related to real estate.
5. Proven experience in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and financial analysis.
6. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
8. Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
9. CPA certification or progress towards obtaining it is highly desirable.
