Job Details
Our client is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Staff Property Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing SOS (Statement of Operations) Billings and BOI (Basis of Income) reporting, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data related to our diverse property portfolio. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of property accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process SOS Billings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and contractual agreements.
Generate and analyze BOI reports to provide insights into property income and financial performance.
Maintain and reconcile property accounting records, including general ledger entries, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial data is accurately captured and reported.
Collaborate with property managers and other departments to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor tenant account balances and follow up on overdue payments, coordinating with collections as needed.
Prepare financial statements and management reports for internal review and external stakeholders.
Support the annual budgeting process and assist in the preparation of forecasts and variance analyses.
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in property accounting or a similar role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong understanding of GAAP and property management accounting practices.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Yardi or other property management software.
CPA or relevant certification.
Knowledge of SOS Billing and BOI reporting processes.
