Job Description
Position Overview:
As a Property Accountant II, you'll enjoy the support of a mentor, a clear career path, access to training resources, and the option for a hybrid or remote work schedule. You'll be responsible for full cycle G/L accounting, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements for your portfolio. This includes detailed review of monthly financial statements and general ledger, monitoring daily transactions for accuracy and compliance, and assisting with Annual Budgets and Reconciliations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present internal and external financial reports for assigned portfolio/properties.
- Maintain regular communication with property management teams and Property Managers regarding accounting and financial matters.
- Support Clients on basic to intermediate issues, escalating complex matters to supervisors.
- Assist in property budgeting process and expense reconciliation preparation.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses as required.
- Manage cash accounts for each project/property, ensuring timely payments.
- Review and process vendor invoices for payment.
- Ensure compliance with relevant requirements and provide excellent customer service.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in commercial property accounting/reporting.
- Strong analytical and accounting skills.
- Proficiency in accounting principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to interact effectively with Clients and team members.
- Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of accounting software; experience with Yardi and/or MRI is a plus.
- Familiarity with full-cycle G/L accounting and CAM reconciliations is advantageous.
