Job Details
This role prepares the monthly financial reporting for commercial, retail and or hospitality properties. The use of various accounting methodologies of cash, modified cash and accrual basis reporting will be required. The role supports efforts in the monthly financial statement preparation and reviews with the property management team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure financial statements are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles or Tax Accounting.
- Reporting requirements, including the company’s policies and procedures.
- Provide technical accounting support and decision making, especially in the areas of revenue reporting, sub-ledger reconciliations, general ledger analysis, detail cash management, reserve and accruals analytics.
- Prepare account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and other items associated with the month-end closing process.
- Ensure that all ledgers and reports are closed and prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare monthly financial statements including the balance sheet, P&L, statement of cash flow and forecasted cash flow.
- Provide additional analysis and financial support for standard and ad hoc reporting requirements as directed by owners and or asset management.
- Prepare the analysis and reporting of actual operating performance with operating plan and prior year results to provide information to allow management to make informed decisions and drive business growth.
- Analyze daily and monthly results and communicate risks and opportunities to management for decision making.
Experience:
- Experienced financial professional with a BS/BA degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 2 years professional accounting or finance experience preferred.
- Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point with an emphasis in Excel and database software.
- Prior property management accounting software experience preferred but not required.
