About the Property Accountant Opportunity:
The Property Accountant is responsible for month end close, financial statements, timely reporting of all trust accounts and replacement reserve requests. Our growing portfolio consists of a mix of affordable, student housing, and senior living multifamily apartments.
The Property Accountant reports to the Property Controller, and will work closely with the Property and Regional Managers, as well as corporate staff.
Job Responsibilities:
â— Budget preparation and support for regional managers
â— Review monthly financials for accuracy
â— Review and prepare monthly GPR
â— Reconcile all bank and trust accounts each month
â— Maintain balance sheet accounts in balance with supporting sub ledger and/or supporting documents (such as AR Rent, Prepaid Rent, Security Deposits, Prepaid insurance, and liabilities)
â— Manage and review credit cards and post JE to properties
â— Help process all required and replacement reserve draws.
â— Update per unit analysis
â— Replacement Reserve schedule
â— Mentor Staff Accountants
â— Assist with the annual audit
Position Qualifications:
◠Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting highly preferred.
â— Accounting experience 3 or more years.
â— Yardi experience, preferred
â— Relevant work experience within multifamily real estate industry
â— Able to understand, review and analyze property financial statements.
â— Excellent skills with Excel and Word.
