About the Job
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting functions for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparations for assigned properties
- Analyze and maintain accurate records of rent rolls, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and review monthly financial reports, variance analyses, budget-to-actual comparisons, and CAM reconciliations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies and address property accounting inquiries
- Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal control procedures
- Assist with annual budget preparation and year-end audit processes for properties
- Process monthly bank reconciliations and handle daily cash management functions
- Maintain and update property accounting records within the Yardi property management system
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in property accounting
- Proficient in Yardi property management software
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and property accounting principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
