Our client, a well respected real estate company, is seeking a property accountant to join the growing team! The Property Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions required to produce monthly financial statements for multiple properties. The Property Accountant will be detailed noting that accuracy and timeliness will be imperative in the completion of the workload.

- This position offers flexibility of a hybrid work schedule with at least 3-4 days in the office. Salary range 75k-90k.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements and reporting packages with required supporting documentation for all assigned entities by due dates
- Maintain, review and analyze general ledger accounts in connection with financial reporting processes
- Ensure that all bank accounts are reconciled daily and follow-up on reconciling items on a timely basis
- Monitor deductions for mortgage, interest, escrow and real estate tax payments
- Calculate and post expense accruals with high level of accuracy
- Maintaining amortization schedules and recording of accruals
- Responsible for the preparation of the balance sheet reconciliations for assigned properties
- Preparation of annual operating expense and real estate tax reconciliation calculations
- Prepare all monthly property management fee calculations and posting charges to respective properties
- Ensures all charges are billed to tenants pursuant to terms of the lease agreements
- Process tenant security deposit refunds as necessary
- Assist the Senior Accountant and Property Manager with preparation of annual budgets and reforecasts
- Perform analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify irregularities, work with property management team to identify source of variance and post adjusting journal entries as necessary
- Support the department to satisfy the requests of external audits, tax preparers and/or consultants
Education and Experience:
- Four year Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
- 5 + years experience in the accounting field, with 3 + years in real estate industry required
- Knowledge and experience with Yardi Voyager and MRI software is a plus
- Experience with common area maintenance expense reconciliations required
