We are seeking an experienced Project Surveyor to join our team. This position is 40 hours per week in our Minden or Reno offices. This position will work on-site and is not remote nor hybrid.

Key Responsibilities
- Performs surveying assignments within company and industry standards using a computer aided drafting as an aid to draft and document deliverables.
- Assists in preparing survey proposals and manage budgets.
- Responsible to manage field crews.
- Assists in maintaining staff schedules and deliverables.
- Prepares accurate, complete, and value-added work products and perform complex survey computations.
- Ensures timely project delivery by completing assigned tasks on or ahead of schedule.
- Perform construction staking calculations.
- Analyze and review work of survey crews and technicians.
- Responsible for reducing field data utilizing field codes and stringing (field to office data collection).
- Prepares cut sheets.
- Interpret design plans for construction staking calculations and coordinates with engineering staff to ensure proper interpretation.
- Strong knowledge of local and federal surveying laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
- Understand tolerances and accuracy as they relate to project needs.
- Analyzes title reports and legal descriptions along with necessary map and deed research.
- Assists in boundary analysis.
- Prepare plats and legal descriptions.
- Prepares Tentative Maps, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, Record of Survey and ALTA Maps.
- Works closely with Director of Surveying, Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to obtain project information and ensure drawings are accurate and complete.
- Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy before submitting to supervisor for review.
- Assists in setting up and maintaining Survey Standards.
- Identifies, recommends, and practices ways to be productive and efficient.
- Provides accurate account of time spent on projects with descriptions for each time entry.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license preferred but not mandatory.
- Proven experience in land surveying with 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
- Proficiency in State Plane Coordinate Systems.
- Proficient with Trimble Business Center.
- Strong data analysis skills for interpreting survey data accurately.
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to utilize sound judgment, independent decision making, and prolonged focus.
- Strong background working and thriving in a team-based environment.
