Job Responsibilities
The Video Security and Access Control (VS & A) Project Supervisor will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and security of our clients’ premises. They will be responsible for designing, implementing, servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining video surveillance systems, access control systems, and related software.
As a member of the VS&A team will oversee project teams to ensure timely and efficient security installations and upgrades. They will evaluate client needs and potential security risks to recommend solutions to ensure life safety measures are taken. Additionally, provide expert guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, and train team members and clients on system usage and best practices to maximize effectiveness of security systems.
Job Functions
- Provides excellent customer service to all Solutions Management Group staff and clients
Provides guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
Participate in hiring/training/developing for the VS & A Technician
Conducts regular performance reviews and provides constructive feedback for the VS & A technician
Acts as first point of contact, mentors, and coaches the VS & A technician
- Collaborates with sales personnel, customers, and program management to design and estimate security solutions for new opportunities
- Develops and designs security architectures for new and existing systems, focusing on server configurations and physical security measures
- Set ups, configures, and maintains servers to support security systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Installs, configures, and maintains video security systems, including cameras, DVRs/NVRs, and related hardware
- Services, tests, and commissions video and access control systems
- Sets up and manages access control systems, including card readers, and electronic locks
- Installs and maintains software for video security cameras and access doors, ensuring seamless integration and functionality
- Determines process for routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security
- Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to video security, access control systems, and associated software
- Conducts site surveys to determine the best placement for security equipment
- Provides training, support to clients on the use/maintenance of installed systems & software
- Maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs
- Collaborates with team members/departments to ensure integration of security systems
- Seeks opportunities for system improvements and enhancements
- Stays updated on the latest industry trends and technologies
- Participates in building VS & A sales packages
- Achieves and maintains certifications for video security and access door systems as defined by Program Manager
Job Qualifications
Employee must be able to execute strong customer service skills
Associate degree in information technology, Engineering, Instructional Technology, or another related field
May have an equivalent combination of education (Including technical degree) and related experience to meet the minimum requirement
- Experience in installing and maintaining video security and access control systems.
- Strong understanding of networking principles and IP-based security systems
- Proficiency with tools and equipment used in the installation and maintenance of security systems
- Experience with installation and maintenance of security software
