ROLE SUMMARY
The Project Scheduler will manage the schedule for BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems) and other Projects. The Project Scheduler will report to the Scheduling Manager and work hand in hand with the rest of the Project Control Team (Cost, Estimating and Document Control), project managers, project coordinators, procurement, and others. The position will have responsibility for all scheduling activities, from project inception to close out depending on Project scope.
The Project Scheduler will provide the necessary tools to proactively manage, control and report progress on the Project schedule. In addition, this information can be used to assist in the planning of manpower resources for projects across the organization. Services include: development of the schedule in the late stages of the proposal, refining the schedule to reflect the execution plan of the project and providing a baseline for measuring the performance during execution, identifying and resolving schedule impacts during execution and assisting project leads with the management of individual discipline manpower loading and forecasts. Coordinates with the Project Cost Controller to assure all impacts to the schedule are reflected in cost forecasts and prepares Earned Value reports. The Project Scheduler 1 is responsible to provide the necessary information for the Project Manager to successfully manage the time related issues on a given project.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains the Engineering Earned Value (Project Workplan) during project execution and reporting engineering progress against scope, schedule and man-hours on a weekly basis.
- Updates, analyzes and issues schedules in Oracle Primavera Cloud to the Project Team.
- Maintains the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) worksheet; comparing actual performance with both long and short term planned performance.
- Works with Discipline leads and other project team members to identify and resolve potential schedule conflicts before they become critical.
- Revises and optimizes the schedule to account for progress and plan changes; both internally and externally driven.
- Coordinates and integrates the schedule with respect to vendor, client and other external entity’s activities.
- Assists the Project Manager to develop reports and other deliverables to meet specific client performance reporting requirements.
- Works with other project teams to prepare multi-project summaries and reports.
- Coordinates with other disciplines to assure consistent reporting across the project.
- Evaluates current scheduling methodology for improvement on current and future projects.
- Interfaces with the Project Control Managers to assure consistency in all applicable project reports.
- Facilitate project schedule review sessions with the project management team and executive leadership
- Participate in the review of supplier schedules for contact compliance and schedule afdherence
- Monitor and incorporate the impacts of changes, issues and risks into the schedule forecasts
- Assist in the preparation of schedule impact for change management and manage the impact to Project Completion and interim milestones
- Collaborate with procurement as needed to assure material or equipment lead times are reflected in Project Schedule.
- Incorporate Baseline Schedule information (Internal resource Use, Forecast Equipment payments, Milestone payments, etc.) into the Baseline schedule and assure synchronicity at Project Start and maintenance though project life cycle with Project Cost Control
- Interacting with Project Cost Controller to assure Cash Flow forecast are reconciled to the project schedule
- Act as an ambassador for all project controls functions and encourage the project management team members to consistently utilize the proper forms and templates
- Develop ad-hoc reports and presentation as needed
- Identify opportunities for improvement and initiate process improvement efforts
- Collaborate and train other team members
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic knowledge of a specialized or technical field such as accounting, business administration, mechanical, civil, or electrical technology and a basic working knowledge of cost accounting.
- High School Degree or equivalent required.
- Requires 0 to 2 years experience with involvement in the execution of the organization’s related projects (Construction or Engineering).
- Computer proficiently and has familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite and at least one scheduling software package (i.e. Microsoft Project, Primavera P3, etc.) and is capable of applying this experience to use Oracle Primavera Cloud proficiently.
- Experience in the battery energy storage / solar / wind or construction experience a plus
- Familiarity with ProCore a plus
