- Project Management
- Oversee all phases of heavy civil construction projects, including planning, execution, and closeout.
- Manage a portfolio of projects totaling $7M-$10M in revenue, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Supervise self-performing teams and manage subcontractor coordination as necessary.
- Collaborate with superintendents on-site to ensure progress aligns with project objectives and safety protocols.
- Maintain and update project schedules, budgets, and quality control measures.
- Leadership and Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering regular updates and ensuring satisfaction.
- Meet with superintendents and field teams to resolve challenges and drive progress.
- Foster a team-oriented culture that promotes accountability and excellence.
- Technical Expertise
- Utilize construction management software to streamline operations and reporting.
- Leverage knowledge of equipment operations and site work to guide decision-making and resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide innovative solutions to challenges in heavy civil site work, including excavation, grading, and utility installations.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure all work adheres to OSHA standards, company policies, and industry regulations.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety on every job site.
- Experience and Skills:
- 8+ years of proven experience as a Project Manager in heavy civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of site work, grading, excavation, and utility installations.
- Experience managing self-performing crews and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
- OSHA 10-hour certification required; higher certifications are preferred.
- Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools.
- Technical expertise in operating and understanding heavy machinery is beneficial.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Tech-savvy and adept at using project management tools for planning and reporting.
- Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver's license; ability to pass a background check.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as needed, with occasional flexibility for weekend work.
