We are hiring a Project Managerwith experience managing wind turbine blade and servicesrepair projects!
GEV Wind Power U.S. is growing and now hiring a Project Manager to effectively oversee blade repair projects throughoutNorth America.In this role, you will be accountable for the timely and profitabledelivery of completed projects, and monitoring key metrics including Safety, Quality, Costs and People. You will be a point of contact for clients to ensure that their project expectations are met and collaborate closely with GEV Operations Coordinators, Safety Department, Field Supervisors and Business Development.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective project management processes and control mechanismsto ensure effective delivery and completion of projects
- Periodically travel to jobsites to evaluate project progress and interface with client(approximately 30%+)
- Facilitate and/or leadeffective pre-project planning meetings, daily project monitoring, weekly project reviews, timely mobilization and demobilization, and project close out meetings and related activities
- Plan project steps, milestones, labor requirements, supply, equipment and material needs
- Ensure that operational and safetyprocedures are implemented and followed, in collaboration with Field Safety Coordinator
- Review and approveDailyProgress Reports (DPRs) and take corrective actions
- Build and maintain effectiverelationships withcustomers, suppliers, subcontractors and GEV employees
- Monitor and ensure project completion meets customer expectations; ensure that revisions, changes and additions to contracts are properly agreed to and invoiced
- Regularly communicate project status, obstacles, risks and successes to all stakeholders
- Ensure delivery of entire project meets project margin goals and deadlines
- Effectively and clearlydocument project tracking status in GEV systems and create reports as required
- Participate in various meetings as required or requested
To be considered, you must meet the minimum requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in the Wind Industry, preferably with platform and rope access Blade Repair experience
- 2+ years experience in a Project Management role
- Bachelor's or Associates Degree a plus
- Must be able to periodically travel to job sites throughout North America for a few days to a few weeks at a time (20%+ of the time)
- Must have strong, two-way communication skills, excellent customer service skills, and be a strong team player
- Leadership skills, including the ability to coach, mentor and counsel technicians
- Needs to have excellentattention to detail, great organizational skills,and possess theability to work independently
- Solid project financial skills and general business acumen
- Must be dedicated, responsive andhave a professional demeanor
- Valid drivers license,good MVR record and satisfactory background and drug screening; (must be eligible to drive a rental vehicle)
- Possess oreligible to obtain a U.S. passport
- Must have strong computer skills includinginternet, email and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Project Management tools
