About the Job
Akima Systems Engineering is looking for an Electrical Engineer to manage systems for the US Coast Guard's C5I Service Center.
Responsibilities
+ Provides project management professional services for smaller projects or task orders, providing leadership and is responsible for project direction through successful performance of a variety of detailed, diverse elements of project management tasks.
+ Directs completion of tasks within estimated timeframes and budget constraints.
+ Schedules and assigns duties to subordinates and ensures assignments are completed as directed.
+ Interfaces with Government representatives and reports to the Program Manager on project progress/status and various issues or problems.
+ Coordinates services supporting hardware and software system development using a variety of system development methodologies including Agile.
+ Program/contract management; technical guidance and oversight; supervision of design, development, and implementation of complex computer systems; business area analysis; project planning; coordination of resources (including subcontractor management); project status reporting; and performance measurement and reporting.
+ Manages the day-to-day activities for a moderately complex Technical or non-technical project.
+ Manages the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and customer.
+ Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
+ Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
+ May conduct performance/project analyses to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of the field's concepts and principles.
+ Leads and directs the work of other employees and has full authority for personnel decisions.
+ Administers departmental policies and procedures, evaluates results and performance, and assists with the development of new or modified budgets, strategic plans, or policies.
Qualifications
+ Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited University in the field of Business, Law, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of C4IT engineering/logistics support and/or management.
+ Must have current Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified associate in project management (CAPM) certificate.
+ A Secret clearance in required.
