Job Title: Project Manager / Scrum Master - Data Centric Project
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Onsite 1-2 days/week - Local candidates only)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 6-12 Months
Hours/Week: 40 hours
Rate: $60 - $70/hour
Contract Type: W2 Only (No 1099’s or Corp to Corp)
Scope of Services:
As a seasoned Project Manager / Scrum Master, your pivotal role involves the proficient management of intricate, data-centric technical projects within a highly integrated environment. Leading with expertise, you will navigate and deliver on the complexities inherent in such projects, ensuring successful outcomes. Your collaborative approach extends to working with cross-functional teams, employing a hybrid delivery model that amalgamates best practices from Waterfall, Iterative, Agile Scrum, and Agile Kanban methodologies. Effective communication is paramount in your role, necessitating engagement with stakeholders at all levels, including executive interactions. Your self-motivation shines through in navigating ambiguous environments, while your leadership capabilities drive teams to success. Embracing change and demonstrating problem-solving prowess, you are adept at steering results. Your physical presence onsite, 1-2 days per week, underscores your commitment to project success.
Knowledge, Skill & Competency Requirements:
- Proven ability to deliver complex, data centric technical projects in a highly integrated environment
- Ability to operate in a hybrid delivery model, incorporating agile, iterative and waterfall best practices
- Hands-on experience with Project Management methodologies (Waterfall/ Iterative, Agile Scrum, Agile Kanban)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with executive level communication and interaction
- Self-motivated, demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity
- Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate and influence
- Demonstrated ability to drive results, solve problems and adapt to change
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Project
- Financial Services Industry experience
Essential Functions:
- Deliver projects that meet business requirements on time and within budget
- Manage projects from initiation through delivery and closure
- Create and maintain project plan; identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones tasks; collect and report on progress to plan against individual project tasks as well as against the overall project.
- Work with functional managers to ensure complete and appropriate resourcing; perform project plan analysis to identify critical path and resource issues
- Assign and manage work of project team members; provide support and direction
- Enable close cooperation across all roles and functions, address people issues
- Create and execute a communication plan that includes both internal and external project communication
- Regularly meet with project sponsor and stakeholders to build relationship and manage expectations
- Manage the project budget, provide change control and ensure business readiness
- Manage issues and risks from identification to resolution
- Manage project documentation including required project deliverable documents (scope, requirements/user stories, test plan and results) status reports, risks, issues, decisions, and action items
- Ensure compliance with company project management policies and standards
Education & Experience:
- Must have at least three years’ experience delivering complex data-centric technical projects
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- PMP certification or other formal project management training desired
