About the Job
Our client, a well-established civil engineering firm with a strong track record in land development, is currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join their team. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer with 15+ years in site design, permitting, and land development across a variety of sectors, including industrial, commercial, residential, and retail. The firm operates fully remotely, offering employees the flexibility to work from anywhere while fostering a collaborative, team-driven culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Minimum 15 years of professional experience in land development, site design, and permitting
- Comprehensive knowledge of NJ land development regulations and permitting processes
- Expertise in AutoCAD and other relevant design software
- Strong communication skills for effective client management and presentation delivery
- Time management and the ability to work autonomously
- PE (Professional Engineer) license is preferred but not mandatory
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with clients to develop tailored design and permitting strategies to meet project objectives
- Lead and manage internal teams to produce accurate, high-quality engineering plans and documents
- Present professional testimony to municipal boards, agencies, and other stakeholders
- Oversee project budgets and financials to ensure projects are completed efficiently and profitably
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, providing exceptional customer service
- Guide and mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development and growth within the firm
- Participate in site visits, attend project meetings, and engage with local agencies as required

Compensation: $95,000 – $125,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Full benefits package (401k, health, dental, bonus structure)
