About the Job
One of my best clients, a leading medical device manufacturer specializing in plastic injection molding, is seeking to add a Project Manager/Project Engineer at their flagship facility in Northwest Connecticut. This addition comes in response to growing production demands.

In this role, you will oversee projects from start to completion, acting as the liaison between the engineering team and customers. You will be responsible for ensuring successful project delivery, coordinating with internal teams, and managing customer interactions, including hosting on-site visits. The position focuses on managing the project itself without direct supervision of a team, and requires excellent time management, as each project may involve 30-40 parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring that timelines, quality, and customer expectations are met.
- Serve as the point of contact for customers, including hosting on-site visits.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated and executed.
- Use IQMS, ERP, and Smartsheet systems for tracking project progress and ensuring accurate records.
- Apply knowledge of plastics tooling and injection molding to support project requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent education/experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in an injection molding environment.
- Understanding of the design and build of plastic injection parts and molds, injection molding processes, and related inspection/quality documentation.
- 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop teams.
- Hands-on approach with strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience with project planning tools (MS Project, Smartsheet); PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable with physical demands such as standing, bending, and walking in a manufacturing environment.
