About the Role
As a Construction Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to ensure successful execution. With your strong leadership, organizational skills, and construction expertise, you will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including safety, quality, budget, and scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships, fostering collaboration with site superintendents.
- Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility for assigned projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; manage change orders.
- Review and ensure accuracy of project documents, including "as-built" submissions.
- Conduct thorough reviews of Requests for Information (RFIs) and manage classifications.
- Lead and resolve conflicts confidently, employing problem-solving skills to mitigate challenges.
- Manage project closeout activities, including commissioning and documentation.
- Prepare and submit Owner Change Order Proposals for approval.
- Oversee weekly project meetings with team members, defining roles, work plans, and goals.
- Monitor and report project progress to stakeholders, including clients and construction managers.
- Establish and negotiate all subcontracts and review bids and contracts to align with project requirements.
Required Skills and Qualities

- Outstanding communication skills for interacting with clients, vendors, and team members.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills for effective problem-solving.
- Advanced proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Excel, Word, and scheduling software).
- Deep knowledge of construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with Portland's construction landscape, regulations, and market dynamics.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
