About the Job
Position Summary: The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for estimating, scheduling, procurement, and project management of master service agreements and site-specific projects for pipeline construction across a mix of customers for which Pike Gas Services, LLC serves. PM’s are responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with customers while ensuring field operations are supplied with pertinent contractual information necessary to perform all work per specifications in a safe, cost effective, and timely manner. The PM is expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently.
Essential Functions:
Under minimal supervision, the Project Manager will:
+ Serve as project point of contact with management regarding client coordination, strategic planning, scope management and budgeting.
+ Oversee projects to include financial supervision, tracking and controlling cost, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor management, and material management.
+ Manage large quantities of inventory and materials
+ Provide internal financial assistance: produce accurate financial projections and accruals on a regular basis.
+ Be responsible for accurate monthly financial reporting with adequate backup for management, internal and external accounting and/or SOX requirements
+ Develop and implement processes to establish project controls and execution plan.
+ Work in-tandem with the operations team to ensure deliverables and services are provided satisfactorily to the customer.
+ Work with operations to ensure projects are executed in compliance with the targeted schedule and expected profitability.
+ Regularly report on progress, cost and schedule metrics, procurement issues, safety or environmental concerns, design questions and potential cost or revenue fluctuations.
+ Manage the client, ensuring effective business relationships are in place and trusted by all parties
+ Be responsible for contract negotiation, change order identification, submittal and approval, administration, and establishing the means to execute the contract.
+ Provide input about effective change control and risk management processes
+ Be able to conduct effective contractual meetings (contract kickoff, progress meetings, safety meetings, etc.)
+ Provide meaningful performance related feedback/input to appropriate operations and field management members
+ Be responsible for contract reporting and status for field operations, management, and to the customer
+ Management of accurate invoices to ensure timely issuance and payment
+ EH&S and Quality programs when applicable
Minimum Requirements:
+ 4 year college degree in engineering or construction management or 8 or more years of field experience
+ Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the pipeline industry.
+ Detailed knowledge of project management fundamentals
+ Expert knowledge of personal computers and software applications with MS office application proficiency
+ Ability to compose complex technical documents, formal letters and invoices
+ Demonstrated skills in oral communication; ability to make presentations to both small and large, diverse groups
+ High energy level with the ability to work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with a bias for action
+ Proven success in developing and maintaining internal and external relationships while effectively navigating organizational barriers
+ High commitment to achieving goals and plans
+ Organizational, planning and time management skills
+ Demonstrated negotiating and decision making skills
+ Working knowledge of project accounting practices and financial systems
+ Expert understanding of Fixed Price contract pricing mechanisms
+ Working knowledge of the techniques needed to lead and influence others in a matrix organization
+ Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
+ Must be able to travel 60% of the time
+ A valid passport is required
