SCS Engineers’ Environmental Services practice supports contaminated-site redevelopment, particularly with private developers. Our projects often start with an initial assessment, move through characterization and remediation implementation, through closure. We take great pride in helping our clients build affordable communities, commercial properties such as logistic centers, and industrial facilities that fuel economic growth. We develop strategies that integrate risk-based corrective actions that match our client’s plans.
How you can make an impact:- Project Management, including, but not limited to developing proposals, contracting, leading project teams, forecasting, invoicing, and accounts receivable management.
- Delivering professional services on time and without error in accordance with local and state regulations and within the planned level of project profitability.
- Managing and executing environmental site assessments, groundwater monitoring programs, soil and groundwater remedial actions, environmental compliance auditing and permitting, and related environmental services with senior oversight.
- Making decisions independently and/or collaboratively on engineering or scientific problems and methods.
- Providing technical and operational direction with responsibility for delivering positive outcomes.
- Writing technical reports and related work products.
- Maintaining relationships with existing clients. Identifying and pursuing target clients.
- Communicating with clients, third party, and regulatory agents regarding project status, schedules, and compliance issues.
- Adhering to client and corporate contract specifications in all activities including health, safety, security, and environment.
- Mentoring and developing staff.
- Contributing to business development activities.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related engineering discipline required.
- Professional registration (P.G. or P.E.) required.
- Minimum of 12 years of related experience required, including hands-on field and office based activities in environmental consulting (e.g., groundwater and soil assessments) with commercial and industrial projects, including reporting. Experience with regulatory agencies and regulatory programs in Southern California is preferred.
- Must be well versed in water quality, environmental regulations, and environmental assessment/remediation.
- Current OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training a plus.
- Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
- Microsoft Office and computer programs (AutoCAD, Surfer, and/or ArcGIS) preferred, field equipment experience preferred
