Our company is looking for an experienced and dynamic Permanent Project Manager to join our Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of engineering projects, from planning to implementation and beyond, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This position requires a strong leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicate effectively with all stakeholders, and make critical decisions under pressure. Responsibilities:
1. Plan, manage, and oversee all aspects of engineering projects from inception to completion.
2. Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with company goals and coordinate various managers and technical personnel during all project phases.
3. Oversee the project's financial budget, notifying stakeholders of key cost implications, potential contingency plans, and other opportunities that could impact the project.
4. Provide leadership and direction to the project team, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration.
5. Solve any complex issues that may arise, using your problem-solving skills to ensure the project stays on track.
6. Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
7. Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
8. Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed, and measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
9. Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project.
10. Conduct a thorough risk analysis to identify project risks and implement mitigation processes.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the engineering industry.
3. Proven track record of managing large and complex projects with a high degree of success.
4. Strong knowledge and experience in strategic planning, budgeting, and contract management.
5. Exceptional leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience with complex transactions with little supervision.
7. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present and explain complex information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Proficiency in project management software tools.
9. Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
10. High level of critical thinking, bringing a high level of judgment on a range of issues.
11. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
