About the job
This position is responsible for managing projects or sub-project, with business impact in accordance with Alfa Laval's project methodology to reach the Product Roadmap for the factory.
This is an onsite position located in Richmond, VA.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage projects on time, on specification and on budget.
- In collaboration with the sales, define the Product Plans & prioritize the localization.
- Establish & maintain the documentation including standard operating procedures starting from the design phase to industrialization of the new products.
- Drive VAVE (Value Analysis-Value Engineering) activities locally for the existing products.
- Check & approve design calculations & f drawings of the equipment's.
- Work in collaboration with the multi-function teams to achieve the desired Product Plans.
- Plan & conduct the technical trainings with the new products being released.
- Assist Quality function into the field failure investigations.
- Carry out CAD drafting of engineered designs for the development including product, job holding devices, tools fixtures etc.
- Monitor data quality across financial and ERP systems to support project management regarding project cost and budget maintenance.
- Maintain the database in accordance to the project plan and product releases.
- Reports/communicates to the steering committee on a weekly basis.
- Stakeholder management & communication.
- Travel to global factories as required for benchmarking & localization activities.
What you know:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or Manufacturing Engineer in OEM companies.
- AutoCad, Cadison, layout drawings, 2D & 3D etc. documented experience.
- Knowledge about the Pressure Vessel codes (ASEM/PED) would be an added advantage.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on development, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
- Open and communicative with high integrity, fostering trust and transparency within the organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external team/team members.
- Leadership.
- Ability to analyze data and leverage improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Lean and Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive operational enhancements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
