Duration : 6 months contract to hire

IT Project Manager
Responsibilities:
- Create and manage project plans for development, implementation and maintenance of insurance applications as well as inbound and outbound interfaces through the entire SDLC, including analysis, design, and build.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget with proactive risk management, remediation of any deviations and creative solutions.
- Prepare and present regular status and metrics reports.
- Manage, mediate and execute solutions across internal business and IT personnel as well as multiple external vendors with mostly offshore resources.
- Work with project teams and business to manage and prioritize development projects and enhancement and maintenance requests.
- Coordinate and manage scheduled releases for enhancements and version upgrades, with system administrators, IT developers and IT support staff.
- Drive delivery quality and recommend process improvements
Skills/Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related fields. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing medium to large technology projects. Experience within a PMO group is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, very fluid environment.
- Commercial P&C Insurance back ground knowledge of entire policy quoting and issuance cycle and experience working with different lines of business (Crime, Property, Umbrella, Work Comp) is desirable
- Insurance application development and maintenance experience. Knowledge of Duck Creek policy administration system and related systems interfaces is preferred
- Strong leadership, analytic, problem solving and organization skills to manage multiple work plans, collaborate with functional areas and interact/facilitate solutions between onsite and offshore IT personnel.
- Experience with Agile methodology and managing large, enterprise projects from inception through delivery
- Proficient in planning and reporting tools used in project management
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong technical knowledge and familiarity with object-oriented development software, .NET, Database/SQL is a plus
