Job Description:

As a project manager for Allison-Smith, you will be encouraged and trained to develop an entrepreneurial business approach to managing the electrical construction of a variety of projects.

Project types include commercial, electrical, industrial, and mechanical engineering, modular solutions, technology, and telecommunications.

Role and Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will oversee:

• all phases of electrical work, encompassing project acquisition (including layout and design, bidding, managing billing and material purchasing, constructability analysis, design review scheduling, value engineering, site logistics review, estimating strategy, cost/proposal development, negotiation, pre-fabrication planning),
• project preconstruction (team development, planning, procurement),
• project construction (scheduling, team/relationship building, change management, issue resolution, cost projections, billing),
• project close-out (final documentation, owner training, contract reconciliation, final billing)

We take great pride in our engineering approach to the construction business, and project managers can expect to be involved with projects from the design phase (design-build and design-assist) all the way through the application of the design and completion of the project.

Some project managers are licensed professional engineers. This gives unlicensed project managers the opportunity to enhance his or her knowledge through peer-to-peer interaction.

In addition to the daily interaction with peers and senior project managers, who serve as a daily mentor to support growth as a project manager, we have weekly project manager meetings, monthly project financial reviews, and semi-annual employee reviews.
