Project Manager, Mechanical (Western Operations)

The MWRA is seeking a Project Manager, Mechanical (Western Operations) who provides technical assistance in support of the overall maintenance program, mechanical design services and field-inspection services for various Western Operations mechanical construction and maintenance projects. Has asset responsibility for all Western Operations mechanical equipment including but not limited to: HVAC, pumps, emergency generators, turbine mechanical controls, cranes and hoists, and hydraulic systems.
Thw work includes defining, developing, administering and refining programs to support a pro-active maintenance environment. Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities and safety systems; analyzing Maximo data for assigned assets to evaluate in-house equipment maintenance effectiveness and to make improvement recommendations; annual condition assessment and development of asset replacement strategy for assigned assets; assisting in the development and administration of condition monitoring programs such as vibration analysis, oil analysis and thermography; coordinating project activities with engineering consultants, contractors and manufacturers as required.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, sanitary or environmental engineering or a related field; and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience with maintenance and operations of mechanical equipment associated with waterworks or wastewater systems or with manufacturing facilities; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid Massachusetts Class D Motor Vehicle Operator's License is required.
