Location: HYBRID- 3 Days a week onsite - Springfield, MA
Contract: 10+ months contract
Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project teams, collaborating across workstreams to manage project timelines, milestones, dependencies, and proactively address risks and issues.
- Direct and coordinate technical project teams, assess resource and budget requirements, and align with business strategy in partnership with the project sponsor.
- Foster strong stakeholder and vendor relationships to drive successful project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with SDLC methodology, including tasks, documentation, modifications, conversions, and implementations.
- Standardize tools and documentation practices across all projects.
- Define and manage detailed project plans using MS Project.
- Develop, monitor, and report on project/program tasks and deliverables while actively managing resource plans and maintaining tight control over project budgets, approved funding, forecasts, and actuals.
- Provide ongoing documentation and communication to enhance awareness and engagement among diverse audiences.
- Maintain accountability to business sponsors and management, ensuring quality delivery of solutions tied to clearly defined business problems and benefits.
- Manage the overall project plan, schedule, budget, and ensure timely status monitoring and reporting.
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate risks and issues; lead teams through quick resolution to minimize schedule impacts.
- Manage conflicts and prioritization to avoid delays.
- Deliver platform enhancements and/or complex initiatives on schedule.
- Partner with internal and external subject matter experts (business, technical, compliance, communications, vendor, etc.) to define and execute plans for each delivery.
- Provide updates to stakeholders on progress, establishing recognition as a trusted advisor and leader.
- Contribute to and influence business strategies that shape projects.
- Implement strategies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Remove barriers to achieve project objectives, assess risks and impacts, negotiate priorities, and drive decisions effectively.
Skills and Qualifications

Required:
- PMP certification or equivalent; fluent in PMBOK methodology.
- Experience with Agile methodologies (CSM preferred but not required).
- Proficiency with Project Management tools, including MS Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- 3–5 years of experience in the financial services/insurance industry.
- 4+ years of IT experience managing large-scale IT programs or portfolios, including integrations.
- 2+ years of vendor management and contract negotiations (SOW/Invoice).
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing program/portfolio budgets.

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead highly visible, complex, multi-platform projects.
- Strong conflict resolution, prioritization, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities to build trust and drive alignment across business and IT stakeholders.
