Project Manager Inventory and Cost Accounting, Global Manufacturing Operations
Pay Range: $60 to $64.85/hour

We are looking for a Project Manager with strong manufacturing operations experience to lead our transformational initiative focused on optimizing inventory valuation, cost accounting processes, and profit recognition across the company's global manufacturing facilities.
The ideal candidate will join our client's IT Corporate Systems team and drive the implementation of this workstream, handling the elimination of profit in inventory as part of a Next Generation Finance project.
The ideal candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, and IT teams to enhance our manufacturing cost accounting processes.
Reporting to the Director of IT, the PII Project Manager will play a critical role in partnering with plant controllers, operations leaders, and IT teams to transform how we manage and account for manufacturing inventory and associated costs.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Inventory and Cost Accounting project across multiple global manufacturing facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate financial policies and manufacturing excellence initiatives
Partner with plant controllers and operations teams to analyze current inventory valuation methodologies and implement the company's standardized cost accounting practices
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timeline management, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and stakeholder communication plans
Drive the implementation of a standard inventory valuation processes across facilities, ensuring consistent application of accounting principles and manufacturing cost methodologies
Lead cross-functional workshops to gather requirements, document business processes, and validate proposed solutions
Work with external consultants and system integrators to implement technical solutions that support improved inventory management and cost accounting practices
Monitor project metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies
Ensure compliance with internal control requirements and SOX regulations throughout the implementation process
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
7+ years of project management experience in manufacturing operations, with demonstrated success in leading large-scale transformation initiatives
Strong understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles, inventory management practices, and operational excellence methodologies
Experience with ERP systems implementation or optimization projects, particularly in manufacturing environments
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights
Working experience with IBM AS400 i-Series systems
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization, from shop floor to executive leadership
PMP certification preferred
Six Sigma certification is a plus
Experience with change management methodologies and frameworks
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, complex environment with multiple competing priorities
Strong proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office suite
Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and inventory management systems is a plus
