Project Manager
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing PMO (Project Management Office) team. This role is pivotal in supporting the launch and development of the PMO. The candidate will work closely with key stakeholders, including C-suite executives, and will manage multiple IT projects across various time zones.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and deliverables. Maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring all members are aligned and motivated to achieve project objectives.
Execution and Monitoring: Oversee the execution of project plans, track progress, and adjust schedules as necessary to ensure timely delivery.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project outcomes.
Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management and stakeholders on project status, challenges, and solutions.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project deliverables meet the established quality standards and requirements.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, reports, and lessons learned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Project Management or a related field
- Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, with 5 years’ experience
- PMP Certification
- Certification and/or strong knowledge in Lean project management and Agile methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Proficiency in project management software and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, SharePoint). Preferred Skills
- Experience in managing cross functional teams in delivering technical projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Significant knowledge and experience with project management methodologies, strategies, processes and project financial management, organizational change management concepts, and business process improvement.
- Ability to effectively present project updates with a firm understanding of dependencies, scope, cost, and milestones.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels.
- Airline industry experience is preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable working East Coast hours and managing projects across multiple time zones.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for project meetings in the U.S.
