About ACT HubThe ACTuate ACT Hub is a building automation and management platform using AI for the management of portfolios of buildings with no facilities manager on site. The ACT Hub Platform features include mechanical system fault detection and diagnostics and key performance indicators with an automated work order system for predictive maintenance, alerts and notifications routed to the right stakeholders, automated lighting and thermostat setpoints and schedules that maximize both comfort and energy savings, and tracking of facility and equipment energy and operational performance. It additionally acts as an IoT hub for any facility device, control, sensor, or piece of equipment that may be monitored and optimized.
Who You Are
ACTuate is seeking a talented individual inspired by learning, adventure, and working within a fast-paced start-up environment to join our team in the role of Project Manager (HVACR/Controls).
What You'll Do
The person in this role will be responsible for the successful execution of projects within NY and the greater northeast region. Some travel around 30% of the time including on-site visits to customers facilities for assessments, quality assurance, and training.
Key responsibilities include:
● Identify subcontractor trade partners, and negotiate rates for technicians to install specified controls and network communication equipment (HVAC, Refrigeration, Electrical)● Train trade partner technicians on ACTuate standards and best practices for installation of mechanical equipment controls and IoT sensors/devices● Manage all aspects of project implementation including planning, coordinating schedules, performance metrics, commissioning, quality control, and customer satisfaction● Collaborate with the internal Project Coordinator and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and the systems are installed and commissioned accurately● Conduct on-site visits for initial building and HVACR assessments, management and QA of subcontractor work, and training of subcontractor partners.● Utilize ACT Hub equipment data and analytics to help technicians troubleshoot installation errors and HVACR equipment performance issues● Maintain field notes and outcomes of technician work orders within the ACT Hub platform, linking the outcomes and result from data analytics to technician field actions● Build positive working relationships with our customers, and their managers and maintenance teams● Communicate regularly with customers to ensure that their needs and expectations are being met● Work with customer teams to help them understand the implementation process and train them on the operation of controls upon installation completion● Actively participate in the design, creation, and documentation of tools, systems, processes required to manage projects and tasks efficiently
What You Bring
Required Qualifications● Bachelor's or Vocational Trade Degree or equivalent experience combination● Minimum 5-7 years experience with HVAC and/or Refrigeration Systems including maintenance, troubleshooting, and controls● Minimum 3-5 years Project Management experience (Senior Project Managers are also encouraged to apply)● Possess the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences both verbally and in writing● Capable of proactively managing numerous projects, adapting to change, and continually following through to ensure successful project completion● Resourceful problem solver with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills● Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, and online platforms with the ability to learn and master new software applications through a combination of organized training, online tutorials, and independent learning● Ability to lift 50 pounds, safely climb ladders, move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and work in cold and hot conditions● Must possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, working both collaboratively and with a high degree of autonomy● A commitment and desire to make a positive social and environmental impact on the world
Preferred Qualifications● PMP Certification● EPA Section 608 Technician Certification● Experience with HVACR fault detection and diagnostics within a BMS Platform

Range: $90,000-$115,000 base annual salary
