Heavy Civil Project Manager

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to oversee our projects in heavy civil earthworks, underground utilities, and preferably roadway construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex projects, ensuring quality, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and balance manpower, equipment, and job tasks.
• Act as the primary contact for project owners, conducting pre-work and weekly meetings.
• Collaborate with superintendents and foremen to develop comprehensive work plans.
• Supervise project engineers, oversee submittals, and build project schedules.
• Price change orders and approve pay estimates.
• Manage force account work in partnership with superintendents and foremen.
• Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors, including locating and pricing subcontracts.
• Ensure quality assurance through effective oversight of site management.
• Collaborate closely with company owners and estimators on bid estimates.
• Participate in hiring processes for superintendents, foremen, and skilled laborers.
• Promote and enforce job-site safety protocols directed by superintendents and foremen.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in heavy civil project management, specifically in earthworks and underground utilities.
• Familiarity with roadway construction is preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project demands.
