Roles and Responsibilities
- Overall, the Project Manager (PM) is responsible for project startup through closedown activities, establishing the project governance with the appropriate resources, working with the leadership for resource assignments, base lining the project, maintaining a current project plan, creating a weekly project summary status, conducting project meetings and escalating issues and concerns as appropriate.
- All tasks, issues, risks and actions are documented in a timely manner and then reviewed by leadership and project team members. A snapshot of project status is then compiled for leadership to communicate to the client as appropriate.
- Create and maintain project schedules utilizing Microsoft Project application software
- Ensure that project schedules are consistently developed, maintained and representative of the current project task level status
- Be accountable to ensure the project completes all deliverables within the specified timeframes and allocated resources.
Required Skills/Experience
- Experience in the healthcare industry
- Experience supporting Medicaid or MMIS systems is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years experience using PM related tools (i.e. MS project, MS project server, MS
Office suite) - Experience with creating any of the project components (i.e. scope, schedule, resources, quality, communications, procurement, risk)
- Expertise in the creation of scope statements, monitoring of project schedules, developing a communication plan and presented to staff, management and customers, development of a risk management plan and processes
- Experience creating project status reports, updating project dashboards and highlighting risks and issues along with mitigation plans including meeting with the client to provide overall project status
- Effective communicator both verbal and written, especially in meeting settings
- Demonstrated experience in working in client settings and presenting to executive level client

- Able to facilitate meetings and produce minutes or other outputs
- Interpersonal skills to work across a wide range of diverse project resources
- Pro-activeness to ask probing questions, identify potential issues, develop alternatives in work

- Experience in leading large scale projects involving multiple areas and groups
- Ensuring the proper balance of skilled resources is staffed for the project
- Experience with system development and associated methodologies (SDLC).
Experience with any of the Following is a Plus
- Limited knowledge and experience with system architecture or infrastructure components
- Related experience with claims processing Health care insurance
- Medical knowledge of procedure codes, diagnosis codes, medical billing
- Experience with managing, either directly or indirectly (i.e. matrixed teams), this would include task assignment, performance monitoring as related to the task assignment.
