Job Details
The Project Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for industrial HVAC and process mechanical systems design for multiple ongoing projects. You will project manage from kickoff to programming, schematic design and development of construction documents as well as construction administration up to project close-out. The Project ME will directly support our clients by providing technical expertise in the execution of complicated, multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder, and fast track projects.
Responsibilities
Client interface;
Generate and track project delivery schedule;
Develop and allocate fees for mechanical engineering work;
Tracking budgets throughout the design;
Perform analysis and design of industrial buildings/projects;
Facilitate the design of engineering plans from preliminary through construction phases;
Technical writing for engineering studies, Basis of Design documents, and narratives for non-technical audience explaining engineering concepts to facilitate decision-making;
Review and produce plans and specifications for compliance with industry codes, standards, and guidelines;
Seal construction documents;
Communicate and coordinate with clients, multi-discipline teams, contractors and government agency personnel;
Travel may be required;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
BS in Mechanical Engineering;
5-10 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design
2-5 years of project management experience;
Experience as the primary engineering interface with multiple clients as a project manager or engineering lead;
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the U.S. (preferred)
Familiar with AutoCAD, NavisWorks, Pipe-Flo, Caesar or Autopipe pipe stress software, Trane Trace, Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office applications;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interface.
