We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team in the Historic Preservation industry. This individual will play a critical role in the planning, development, and implementation of construction projects, specifically focusing on the preservation and renovation of historic buildings and structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, construction management, field investigations, inspections, and utility infrastructures. They will also be well-versed in the intricacies of historic preservation, restoration, demolition, and renovation projects. The successful candidate will be adept at using GIS and Adobe Acrobat, and familiar with the Virginia Department of General Services Division of Engineering (previously BCOM). Knowledge of storm water management, erosion, and sediment is also required.
Responsibilities:
1. Managing construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
2. Coordinating all aspects of the project, including liaising with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
3. Overseeing field investigations and inspections to ensure all work is carried out to the highest standard.
4. Planning and implementing utility and infrastructure upgrades.
5. Leading historic preservation and restoration projects, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
6. Overseeing the demolition and renovation of historic structures, ensuring the preservation of their historic integrity.
7. Using GIS and Adobe Acrobat to create and manage project documentation.
8. Complying with all regulations set out by the Virginia Department of General Services and BCOM.
9. Managing storm water, erosion, and sediment on construction sites to prevent environmental damage.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 4 years experience in project management in the construction industry.
2. Proven experience in construction management, field investigations, inspections, and utility infrastructures.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of historic preservation, restoration, demolition, and renovation projects.
4. Proficiency in using GIS and Adobe Acrobat.
5. Familiarity with the regulations and guidelines set out by the Virginia Department of General Services and BCOM.
6. Knowledge of storm water management, erosion, and sediment.
7. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
8. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
9. A degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
