About the Job
Job Description
- Responsible for the overall management of Clean Earth Northeastern Beneficial Use Facilities including approval, receipt, delivery and placement operations, maintenance, and proper utilization of staff and equipment.
- Oversee operations and maintenance activities for all aspects of the project locations.
- Work with individuals at various levels and roles inside and outside the organization, including hourly and salaried employees, managers and leadership, vendors, partners, regulatory agency staff, community members, and local representatives.
- Directly and indirectly, manage a team of supervisors and hourly facility processing staff including laborers, scale operators, equipment operators, administrative staff, and technical support roles along with oversight of sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Work in partnership with the safety team to actively ensure a safe and healthy work environment with a consistent focus on continuous improvement, safe work practices, and positive employee health and well-being.
- Generate reports for senior management and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with plans & specifications and applicable Federal, State, and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintain positive relationships with all state and local regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for facility compliance, transportation logistics, and overall profitability
- Recommend new work practices, coordinate the flow of data to and from management, control expenditures, and recommend equipment upgrades or replacement
- Effectively communicate company programs and initiatives to all direct and indirect employees
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental/civil engineering, environmental science, or business management is recommended.
- 8+ years’ experience in facility operations, with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity
- Experience in the operation of treatment, processing, recycling, and/or transfer facilities

- Ability to plan and supervise the work of others and motivate and lead teams
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Self-directed with the ability to work under pressure and manage several projects simultaneously
- Creative thinker with the ability to consider “out of the box” solutions
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
