Matern Staffing is hiring a Project Manager for leading designer and manufacturer of automated plastics systems in Fredericksburg, VA. As plastics provides the backbone for numerous industries due to its versatility, durability, and cost-effectiveness, the Project Manager serves as the backbone for the projects they manage.

As a Project Manager you'll be the person the customer trusts to see their commercial projects become a reality, from purchase order entry to final installation. Sure, it can be challenging to coordinate materials, schedules, and budgets, but completing a project and seeing the customer’s smiles make it all worth it.

This is a direct hire position with benefits listed below.

Salary: $70,000-$110,000/yr

What You’ll Do:

• Review purchase orders for contract details, pricing, scope, and execution
• Lead order entry meetings and manage drawing/documentation requirements
• Coordinate the procurement of materials and services from external suppliers
• Conduct site visits or web meetings to assess field conditions and ensure alignment with system specifications
• Schedule and negotiate subcontracted installation services
• Communicate site requirements (e.g., utilities, storage, building alterations) and ensure readiness for system commissioning
• Monitor project milestones and ensure timely execution through regular ERP queries and meetings
• Anticipates problems, misunderstandings, and daily issues and implements effective solutions that meet time, safety, and budget constraints
• Manage project scope, schedule, change orders, and costs, addressing changes and delegating work as needed

What You’ll Need:

• At least 5 years’ previous project management experience (within the food or plastics industry experience is preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and prioritization skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Critical Path, and Dependencies
• Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
• SAP (ERP) business system practical experience (plus)
