Job Details
We are seeking a finance leader to support strategic enterprise initiatives through various phases, including ideation, design, development, testing, implementation, and stabilization. The role involves handling medium-sized cross-functional projects that span multiple business processes and divisions. The position ensures that finance systems and capabilities meet enterprise standards, leverage best practices, employ lean and smart automation strategies, and comply with internal controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Transformation Focus:
- Lead or support digital and business process transformation projects, accounting for at least 75% of the role. Utilize formal transformation processes, tools, templates, and methodologies to re-engineer finance capabilities and systems.
- Manage relationships with business process owners, operational experts, project sponsors, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment on scope, timeline, deliverables, and trade-offs from project initiation to closure.
- Address and escalate issues promptly and appropriately.
- Coach, mentor, and supervise project subject matter experts and team members, ensuring accountability for delivering project milestones on time and with quality.
- Handle performance issues in accordance with company policy, involving the employee’s direct line operational management when necessary.
- Operational Focus:
- Spend up to 25% of time providing operational support to maintain expertise in current business processes and systems while balancing transformation efforts, especially during key financial cycles.
- Team Direction:
- Provide oversight and work direction to a small team (4-7 people).
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience, with 3-5 years in transformation roles.
- PMP Certification.
- Advanced understanding of complex accounting practices, processes, and principles with 7 years of experience supporting transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading or implementing financial business process changes at an enterprise level.
- Strong packaging and presentation skills to effectively communicate finance and project concepts in business terms.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in large, complex team environments.
- Operational exposure to business process transformation tools such as Lean Six Sigma, project management, process analysis, etc.
- Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated conflict management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Lean Six Sigma Certification.
- Change Management Certification.
- Business Architecture Certification.
Essential Qualifications:
- PMP Certification.
- Advanced understanding of complex accounting practices, processes, and principles with 7 years of experience supporting transformation initiatives.
- Experience leading or implementing financial business process changes at an enterprise level.
