POSITION SUMMARY:
Through the design process of sports facilities, this position will facilitate our Venue Planning Process by working with owners, design teams, SFC's pre-development team, and SFC's management operations team to help develop industry leading athletic and entertainment facilities. During the procurement and construction phases of projects, this position will project manage the specifications, procurement, and installation of installed and Loose FF&E including sport and operational specialty scopes. This role will be responsible for coordination from site inception and acquisition through facility opening. Your time will be split between in office and travel to different job sites or vendor sites where necessary.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Facilitates and participates in recurring design and construction progress meetings.
- Works with Programming, F&B, Sports, FEC, and other subject matter experts to ensure facility design spaces are optimized for performance.
- Leads Storage Studies, Cash Handling Studies, Operational Reviews, Technology Reviews, Branding Exercises and Value Engineering studies of facilities in designs.
- Read, review, and markup blueprints to provide programming and operational feedback
- Works with the design team to design and implement creative processes
- Meets with different vendors and identify implementation resources
- Sets deadlines and manage expectations for construction team and owner
- Provides FFE (furniture, fixture & equipment) design assistance for space programming, development of bid package, procurement/vendor selection, and installation & coordination with the oversight of architect to ensure scope is covered
- Ensures vendors and contractors are accurately performing their contracted duties
- Closes project out contractually, financially, and with proper documentation and warranties per FFE procurement contract
- Oversees completion of daily tasks and projects, providing detailed task lists to external vendors and managing completion dates
- Coordinates with opening staff, as a liaison between leadership, GC and all related support staff during pre-opening and completion phase
- Communicates any success and areas of concerns, communicate timelines, and request for information needs
- Ensures timelines and deliveries are on track
- Coordinates with GC and pre-opening team on delivery and installation of other products and services for new facility openings
- Coordinates with technology and AV teams on delivery and installation of other products and services at new openings. Create daily task lists/punch lists for property management team that is on boarding the new facility
- Communicates daily concerns with Project Manager and General Contractor
- Completes punch list for General Contractor and provide daily/weekly updates to leadership
- Works with PM, development team, and ownership to deliver final product that meets or exceeds standards and financial goals
- Assists in developing and implementing corporate procedures and systems to improve SFM project management delivery experience
- Develops good working relationships with suppliers, dealers, and manufacturers
- Other projects as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- College degree preferred but not required
- 5 years construction management experience and/or FFE procurement experience
- Proven experience in proactively managing contractors and architects
- Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Experience working with and/or implementing project management software
- Detail oriented, organized with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills
- Ability to analyze and problem solve
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude in all settings
- Experience in client interface and relationship management
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Willing to travel up to 40% of the time
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds waist high
- Will be required to sit for extended periods of time operating a computer
- Office environment has intermittent noise, normal in nature
