Project Manager/Estimator – Transmission Line/Substation Construction
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site (with Extensive Travel)
Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000; ESOP
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Project Manager/Estimator to join our team specializing in transmission line and substation construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of high-value electrical T&D projects across diverse locations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing complex construction projects, estimating costs accurately, and leading teams effectively while maintaining safety, quality, and budgetary requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1) Project Management:
- Oversee all phases of transmission line and substation construction projects, from initiation to completion.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company goals.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and field operations.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
2) Estimating:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors for transmission and substation construction projects.
- Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine accurate pricing and resource requirements.
- Work collaboratively with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to refine estimates and secure project bids.
3) Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and drive project success.
- Travel:
- Manage on-site project activities and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Travel extensively to project locations to oversee progress, meet with stakeholders, and address site-specific challenges.
Qualifications
1) Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical T&D (transmission and distribution) construction, with a focus on transmission lines and substations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
2) Education & Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
- PMP certification (preferred but not required).
3) Skills:
- Strong proficiency in project management software and estimating tools.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical transmission and substation construction processes, codes, and standards.
