Position Overview
The Project Manager/Estimator will play a dual role in managing projects from inception to completion and accurately estimating costs for drywall projects. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, project leadership, and client relationship management to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee drywall projects from start to finish.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
- Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and address issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and general contractors to meet project requirements.
- Supervise field staff and subcontractors to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Conduct site visits to track project progress and resolve on-site challenges.
Estimating:
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for drywall projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to determine scope.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Present estimates to clients, negotiate terms, and secure project agreements.
- Maintain up-to-date cost databases and pricing models.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in project management and estimating for a drywall subcontractor or related field.
- Strong understanding of drywall systems, materials, and construction processes.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
