Summary: The Project Manager role is an exciting position in a dynamic and fast-paced industry. Skills learned in this role translate to airports around the world. The Project Manager will participate in the entire process from planning and design through construction. RIAC is currently in the midst of a $300M+ capital program across the State's airport system. The Project Manager will also get to dabble in environmental and architecture. The Project Manager will also learn about the interaction with State and Federal offices such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develops and maintains a Master Schedule for all projects within the CIP for planning, design, construction, closeout or implementation activities.
· Reviews monthly cost reports produced by the Finance department to ensure projects remain within budget.
· Develops project definition reports including project need, justification, scope and budget.
· Works to identify and verify funding sources for projects with the FAA.
· Participates in the bidding process and reviews contract addenda.
· Ensures adherence to financial, technical, scope definition and schedule requirements.
· Participates in progress meetings keeping detailed minutes and meeting documentation.
· Assists in coordination and informs internal and external stakeholders during project progression.
· Assists in preparation of grant applications and Board presentations.
· Prepares progress and financial reports.
· Reviews requests for payment, amendments, and change orders.
· Develop reports and provide information regarding the status of projects at RIAC’s airports.
· Performs benchmarking as requested.
· Ensures timely response to shop drawing submittals.
· Monitors work for safety, quality, cost, schedule, cleanliness and impact to operations.
· Ensures proper commissioning and closeout of projects.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
· Ability to follow direction and independently implement tasks assigned.
· Ability to effectively communicate, including strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required and AutoCAD and Microsoft Project desired.
· Ability to: reason logically; effectively interact with people in a positive manner; apply technical knowledge; apply information in stressful situations; deal simultaneously with several ongoing items; reach reasonable conclusions; use mental skills to recall, analyze, and organize information.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully clear a background check and maintain as a condition of employment.
Education/Experience:
· A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required, Masters’ degree preferred.
· Registered Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred with ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in the future.
· At least three (3) years’ experience working in a civil engineering discipline.
