A well-established structural steel fabrication company, is looking for a motivated individual with experience in structural steel fabrication and erection to join our team in a Project Manager role. The SWD business area included Arizona, California, New Mexico, Nevada and Southern Utah. Candidates for this position may be required to travel to job sites with the area of SWD purview if necessary. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
• Determine and define scope of work and deliverables • Predict resources needed to complete project • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites • Manage costs in order to meet budget • Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts • Coordinate production schedules and requirements with shop • Manage delivery schedule and activities • Issue progress updates as needed regarding costs and timelines • Ensure work is done in compliance with all relevant building and safety codes • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships • Coordinate efforts across entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steel fabrication.
• 4-year degree in a related field is preferred. • Ability to read and comprehend plans, specifications, addenda, bid materials, contracts and related construction documents, with an emphasis on structural drawings and steel shop drawings.
• Strong knowledge of contract drawings, contract negotiation, RFI and submittal process, change management, shop process, client/subcontractor/vendor relations • Excellent oral and written communications skills. • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
