Project Manager at J. M. STITT CONSTRUCTION INC.

We are a nationally recognized commercial GC with an immediate need for a qualified project manager experienced in bank, restaurant or other retail ground-up construction and tenant improvements. We are headquartered in Southern California but are licensed in the western and southern United States.

The qualified applicant should be organized and detail-oriented. Must have excellent oral, written, negotiation and time-management skills. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects. Work independently with minimum supervision to manage and deliver turn-key projects.

The overall responsibilities include and are not limited to:

1. Estimate and review/negotiate projects with owners and subcontractors.
2. Oversee and manage all aspects of the construction process including project controls, measuring project costs and schedule progress through completion . Monitor and ensure conformance with contracts,bid specifications and plans.
3. Establish effective communication and long term relationships with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors and vendors.
4. Estimating, developing budgets, scheduling, RFI's, change orders, submittals and all other project related administration.
5. Administer Owner and Subcontractor contracts.
6. Review and approve Owner Pay Requests with consideration to maximize cash flow. Establish regular and frequent communication to achieve timely receipt of payment.
7. Review and approve Subcontractor applications for payments.
8. Verify entitlement of Change Orders by reviewing construction documents and contracts. Determine which portions of Change Orders are compensable.
9. Coordinate with project superintendents and job site personnel to enable meeting of the job schedules and budget deadlines.
10. Value engineer projects when opportunities are recognized.
11. Attend job site meetings, job walks and company meetings. Travel may be required.
12. Adhere to safety compliance issues.
13. Proficient with Microsoft Office and MS Project.
14. Thorough knowledge and understanding of construction methods, practices, codes and blueprints.
15. Able to pass a background check.
