Summary:
The Project Manager, Contingent Worker Management Implementation is a role within the Project Management & Strategic Operations team reporting directly to the Senior Director, DTE Portfolio Management, with dotted line matrixed reporting to the Director, Business Engagement & Technology currently leading the Contingent Worker program. The Project Manager will have execution delivery responsibilities for the implementation of all changes needed to support the design and implementation of a technology solution to manage, track and report on Vertex’s non-employee worker population including integrations with existing technology platforms. The Project Manager, Contingent Worker Management Implementation will be charged with direct management of all PMO activities and ensuring accurate status reporting for the implementation workstreams and driving the project outcomes.
The Project Manager will work closely with various internal and external Information Technology (Data, Technology and Engineering) partners (e.g., internal Testing and validation center of excellence (TVCoE), external implementation partners…). The Project Manager will ensure that the project is in alignment with other inter-dependent projects, programs and stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Knowledge and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in Project Management
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing large-scale, complex projects
- Experience managing Information Technology projects for the benefit of the Human Resources business function/area
- Experience implementing enterprise-wide technology changes related to a non-employee program
- Familiarity with enterprise systems such as Coupa, Workday, Sailpoint, OKTA, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow
- Familiarity with vendor management systems (e.g., Beeline, SAP FieldGlass)

- Demonstrated leadership presence and drive
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to clearly and succinctly express ideas
- Experience facilitating project meetings and effectively and respectfully holding team members accountable for status, deliverables and the timely escalation of blockers
- Unfailing commitment to representing project status in an accurate and timely manner, weekly or in near real time when changes occur
- Successful history of managing collaborative projects with vendors and packaged software

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience practicing project feature prioritization and backlog grooming methods
- Experience with Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) tools and reports
- Demonstrate ability to accurately track and forecast program or project financials
- Understanding of the principles of finance and cost benefit analysis (e.g., capital expenses, operating expenses, amortized and expensed costs, accruals, actual and forecasted spend etc.)
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Experience with high-growth stage and biotechnology companies
- Agile CSM, PSM or similar certification and direct experience
- PMP certification
- Experience managing projects involving implementation and/or modifications to Human Capital Management (HCM) and/or Contingent Worker Management solutions
