About the Job
Oak Technical Services is looking for a Consultant Project Manager to provide project management, contract management, quality management, operations management, and procurement management consultant services to a State of CA PMO. The ideal candidate will identify process improvements opportunities and provide recommendations to the PMO staff and management on project management, quality management, operations management, and contracting best practices. The Project Delivery Consultant will also assist the State with procurement tasks such as planning, Request for Proposal (RFP) development, developing requirements, establishing, and maintaining the bidder’s library, assisting with bidder conferences, and any other procurement related tasks that could include developing documents required for the California Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) process.
This is a remote position, though occasional travel to the client site in Sacramento will be required. This is an existing open position, and the ideal candidate will be able to start work soon. OTS offers an unusually high base salary and a modest benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Have a minimum of five (5) years’ FTE demonstrated experience providing project management services for a large technology project in the public or private sector with a total project value of more than ten (10) million dollars.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years’ FTE demonstrated experience recommending approaches for managing contract requirement changes.
- Have a minimum of two (2) years’ FTE demonstrated experience working on a large IT procurement effort for a state of CA IT project.
- Have a minimum of 5yrs working as a project manager in a state or federal IT Project PMO.
- Hold a current PMP certification.
- Exceptional verbal skills at both the working and executive management level.
- Must be a state of California resident.
Desirable
- Experience with the state of California PAL process for procurement
- Have a minimum of five (5) years’ FTE demonstrated experience assessing process maturity against accepted standard of performance e.g., Capability Maturity Model.
