This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced Civil/Mechanical Engineer to take charge of managing projects, engineers, and client relations. You will be responsible for site design across a variety of projects, including commercial, municipal and federal initiatives. Your role will encompass handling projects from inception to completion, which includes project scope, proposals, des ign, project engineering, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Lead the preparation of design concepts, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
- Ability to create and lead the team, monitor project progress, set deadlines, solve issues that arise, manage money, ensure stakeholder satisfaction, and evaluate project performance, including the performance of their team members.
- Prepare/review design calculations and check calculations.
- Coordinates design drawings with fellow engineers and drafting technicians.
- Participate in inspection and rehabilitation of existing structures.
- Oversee design checks as part of the LEI quality metrics and best practices.
- Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design works and detailed checking of design computations done by others.
- Calculates quantity estimates.
- Work closely with other disciplines.
Civil/Structural Engineer/Project Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Professional Engineering registration in Texas or possess ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Minimum of 7 years engineering experience and 4 years project management experience.
- Ability to work on Federal Projects and meet federal requirements to do so.
- Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) preferred.
- Experienced with Microsoft products
- Availability and willingness to travel 25% of the time
- Solid math and analytical skills. Very detailed oriented.
- The ability to meet tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration with clients is essential, and you will also have the opportunity to manage and mentor junior engineers. We are searching for an engineer who is not only experienced but also ambitious and eager to grow in their career.
