Civil Engineer/Project Manager

Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars, Inc has full-time opportunity for Water & Wastewater Project Manager position within the Public Works division of the firm. This full-time role requires a licensed Professional Engineer who has been specialized in municipal utility work. This position will work in close collaboration with a team dedicated to design and construction phase services for all aspects of municipal utility engineering including: potable water wells, tanks and storage, transmission and distribution, booster stations, system modeling and planning. Similarly, wastewater expertise is desired including treatment plants, advanced treatment, lift stations and force mains, and all aspects of municipal wastewater design.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).

Duties/Responsibilities:

•  Produce design plans of water/wastewater treatment systems.
•  Plan production will include preparations of plans and specifications
•  Assist senior engineers with of design plans, specifications, construction support, cost estimating
•  Produce design and construction drawings incorporating information from supervisor, research data and consultants for various projects
•  Conduct site visits and assist with documenting findings
•  Attend, record, and distribute meeting minutes, and assist with general project correspondence
•  Compose and prepare graphic materials for presentations and documents

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) with a minimum of 4 years of municipal utility design and management experience
• Understand successful proposal writing (SOQ/RFP) & budget management for public contracts
• Ability to market, communicate, and develop relationships with existing and new public agency clients
• Experience must include local public works design (city to county level) is required
• Experience with environmental (water & wastewater) engineering
• CAD Civil 3D is required

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities
