Summary/Objective:
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall quality and timeliness of projects. This includes planning, scheduling, executing, and progression tracking. The PM makes sure that safety is the number one priority by ensuring all practices and procedures are done to client and company standard. The Project Manager must develop good working relationships with new and existing customers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the planning, coordination, and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope.
- Oversee all aspects of projects, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and monitor and summarize progress of project.
- Motivates and builds trust within the team through open and consistent communications, constructive feedback, sound decision making, demonstrating technical aptitude, timely follow-up, and leading by example.
- Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of project.
- Demonstrates commitment to safety and health excellence through strong personal engagement. Recognizing and stopping unsafe behavior, recognizing, and eliminating safety hazards, following safe practices and procedures, and striving for continuous improvement of safety and reliability in the refinery.
- Ability to follow and develop detailed job procedures, simplified process diagrams, and mechanical needs documents.
- Adaptability to difficult situations at the spur of the moment.
- Communicates, presents, and interacts effectively with other functional teams, management, corporate network resources, contract and vendor resources, and hourly workforce.
- Ensures daily work schedules are effective, achievable, provide full crew utilization, and are understood by both supervisors and craft workers.
- Directs and sets expectations for supervisors and operators/technicians.
- Promoting open communications throughout the department and with other workgroups.
- Working knowledge of all aspects of field auditing including personnel, equipment, JSA, project service tickets.
- Some mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills of commonly used equipment.
- Good understanding of the five process variables and how they apply in chemical cleaning and unit decontamination projects.
- Partner with customers to understand ongoing business needs and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma required, Technical School or bachelor’s degree (preferred)
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in the Chemical Cleaning Industry
- Ability to travel frequently and at a moment notice, passport recommended.
- Must have valid Driver’s License, TWIC card, Class A CDL, recommended.
- Clean driving record
- Professional presentation, confident in ability to promote service lines and manage work.
- Organizational skills—able to prioritize responsibilities.
- Sound decision making, dependable and strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, extended work hours associated with overnight and extended travel.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, bend, climb, walk, and stand for long periods of time.
- Work around chemicals, including acids and bases, work around hydrocarbons under high pressure and heat.
- Climb ladders and stairs up to 170 feet in height.
- Wear fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment according to company policy (such as steel-toe shoes, ear, and eye protection, hard hat, H2S monitor, respirator/face mask)
- Refinery Operates 24/7/365 Management staff are required to respond to emergencies.
- Work extended hours which may include evenings, inclement weather, weekends, and holidays.
