Job Description
Facilities Development and Management, Capital Program Management Group (CPMG), seeks a Project Manager Associate. Under close supervision, work closely with the Project Management team and assigned senior staff member in order to gain working knowledge and experience in project management. Provide administrative support to CPMG, assisting with projects, research and analysis, procedural studies, and technical planning. Support project teams in the management of multiple projects from inception through project close-out for new University facilities and for modification, alterations, and repairs to existing facilities.

Salary Range
$42,000 - $52,000 annually, commensurate of experience and education. ASU offers a comprehensive benefits package with the State of Arizona.

Essential Duties
- Under close supervision, support and assist the project team by coordinating and participating in project management documentation (e.g., estimating, work planning, scheduling, and work execution tracking and monitoring).
- Under close supervision, perform incidental project management including planning, research, analysis and implementation of deliverables/action items.
- Assist in coordinating minor and major projects to ensure that design meets user needs and is completed within time frame and budget restrictions.
- Assist in the preparation of projects including advertisements, requests for proposals, proposal evaluation, consultant interviews and selection, fee negotiations, bid and contracts, and pre-bid and pre-construction conferences.
- Assist in monitoring construction progress and provides construction administration services where required.
- Review and report on construction progress.
- Maintain the electronic project folders as requested by the project manager.
- Assist in overseeing project closeout review and ensure compliance with University and Board of Regents procedures, including preparation of all Board of Regents documents.
- Assist in providing problem and dispute resolution and resolution of insurance claims in a timely fashion.
- Assist in directing warranty period inspection and ensures follow-through to resolution on all warranty claims and post-occupancy facility commissioning.
- Regular review of completed tasks.
- Use ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Technology/Science, Engineering, Network Infrastructure Technology/Science, Construction Management, Facilities Management or related field; OR any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
Graduate from the Del E. Webb School of Construction
Experience:
- Using project management tools (e.g., Blue Beam, AutoCad/Revit)
- With blue prints/construction drawings
Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Basic project management.
- Various architectural, planning and engineering disciplines.
- Project delivery methods (e.g., Design-bid-build, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), Job-Order-Contracting, Design Build)
- Job costing estimating, scheduling, contract supervision
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to conduct research into project-related issues.
Evidence of effective communication skills
Working Environment
Activities can be performed in a regular, climate controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking at job sites. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Occasionally participate in field work which requires accessing paved, rocky or uneven areas and exposure to dirt, dust, extreme temperatures and inclement weather. Bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds. Drive University vehicle.

This position is located at the University Services Building, 1551 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ (on Rural Road south of Apache Blvd).
This position requires that you must possess a valid Arizona driver's license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39 month period from date of hire.
This position is dependent on the continuation of funding from a specific source other than state appropriations. As such, this appointment may terminate when the funding is no longer available.
